چکیده
In this work, the materials from different positions of 2219 aluminum alloy/304 stainless steel inertia friction welded tank with long‐term storage N 2 O 4 were studied. The results showed that corrosion product layer composed Fe 3 and FeCr was covered on surface steel. can effectively improve protection effect. Severe occurred in both sidewall bottom alloy, intergranular depths about 30 to 50μm observed cross‐section, accompanied by typical exfoliation corrosion. A Fe‐Al dominated intermetallic compound formed at weld. dynamic recrystallization zone thermo‐mechnical affected included alloy side 4.3 13.3μm, respectively. granular Al matrix be seen peeling alloy. Combining scanning Kelvin probe potentiodynamic polarization curve results, high potential could further promote This article is protected copyright. All rights reserved.

متن کاملInvestigation of Standoff Distance Effect on Corrosion Behavior of Explosively Welded Joint between Two Aluminum Plates and Steel
In the present research, the effect of standoff distance on corrosion properties of the joint of three aluminum–steel explosive layers has been studied. For this purpose, the samples were welded with various standoff distance under constant explosive load. Optical Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy were used to measure the quality of the joint and type of interface. Furthermore, point ...
متن کاملExperimental Investigations on Microstructural and Mechanical Behavior of Friction Stir Welded Aluminum Matrix Composite
The welding of materials by applying Friction Stir Welding technique is a new solid-state joining technique. The main advantage of this method compared to the traditional joining process is that it minimizes problem-related to metal resolidification as the method incorporates no melting phase. In this experimental work, the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) technique on the microstructu...
متن کاملProbabilistic Pitting Corrosion Risk Assessment of Welded Offshore Steel Pipelines
Steel structures continuously exposed to offshore marine environments are prone to corrosion. This can be of major economic and perhaps of environmental significance. The risk of these scenarios occurring can be assessed using good quality data, good quality corrosion and pitting models and structural reliability assessment. Recently, improved models for the prediction of longer term corrosion ...
متن کاملGeneralized Lamb Müdes in Friction Welded Steel Layer On
The evaluation of bond quality between two dissimilar materials is one of the most difficult problems in NDE. Most previous work consisted of analysis of the spectral components of the normal incidence reflected spectrum. In this study, the quality of bond between steel layer and aluminum substrate is investigated using generalized Lamb waves. The dispersion curve for these waves, which has bee...
